Privacy Policy
Introduction
We at Credittavero take your privacy seriously. This document sets out, in plain English, what information we collect from you when you visit the site, why we collect it, who we share it with, and how to exercise the privacy rights granted to you under applicable law. Reading this policy in full is a good idea — privacy obligations vary by jurisdiction and a few of the choices below are yours to make.
Information We Collect
Our web servers and edge providers automatically receive certain information from your device whenever you request a page on Credittavero: IP address, request headers (including browser type and accepted languages), the resource requested, and the time of the request. Some of this is stored for a short period in access logs; the rest is processed in memory and discarded.
When you fill in a form on Credittavero — newsletter signup, contact form, advertise inquiry, unsubscribe page, or any other interactive surface — we collect the information you choose to enter. That typically includes your email address, your message text, and any optional fields you complete. We do not require you to register an account to read the site.
How We Use Your Information
Information collected through Credittavero is used to provide and improve the editorial product. Concretely, that means rendering pages to you, sending you newsletters you've explicitly opted in to, replying to messages you send via the Contact form, producing aggregated readership reports for our editorial team and advertisers, securing the site against abuse, and complying with applicable law. Your personal information is never sold to third parties.
Under the GDPR (and analogous frameworks), our legal bases for processing your personal data are: your consent (for newsletter signups and optional analytics where consent is required); the necessity of processing for performing a contract with you (delivering subscribed content); our legitimate interests in operating and securing the website and understanding aggregate readership; and compliance with our legal obligations. You can withdraw consent at any time using the unsubscribe link in any newsletter or the Contact form.
Cookies and Tracking Technologies
We use a small number of cookies on Credittavero: a session cookie to keep the site functioning, a preferences cookie to remember things like your cookie-banner choice and your accepted timezone, optional analytics cookies (used only with your consent in regions that require it), and — when we display ads — cookies set by our advertising partners. Cookies expire over time and can be deleted at any time through your browser.
Third-Party Service Providers
We rely on a small set of third-party service providers to operate Credittavero: a cloud-hosting provider for our servers, a content-delivery network and edge security provider, an email-delivery provider for our newsletter, and an analytics provider for aggregate visitor metrics. Each of these vendors processes data on our behalf under written contractual terms that restrict use of the data to the services we contract for.
Advertising
We may display advertising on Credittavero sold programmatically through Google AdSense or another reputable advertising network. These networks use cookies to measure ad delivery and (where consent is granted) to personalize the ads shown. You can disable personalized advertising in your Google account at https://www.google.com/settings/ads and refuse non-essential cookies through our cookie banner.
Data Retention
We retain personal information only for as long as needed to fulfill the purposes described in this policy or to comply with our legal obligations. Newsletter subscribers' email addresses are kept until they unsubscribe (at which point the record is moved to a suppression list and is no longer used for marketing). Contact-form submissions are retained for up to 24 months for follow-up and recordkeeping. Server access logs are retained for up to 90 days.
Your Privacy Rights
Under privacy laws including the GDPR (Europe) and the CCPA / CPRA (California), you may have the right to access the personal information we hold about you, to correct it if it is inaccurate, to ask us to delete it, to opt out of any sale or sharing of it (we do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising), to restrict its use, and to bring a complaint to a regulator. To exercise any of these rights, contact us through the Contact form below.
Children's Privacy
Credittavero is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you are a parent or guardian and you believe that a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete the information.
International Data Transfers
Operating a web service inherently involves moving data across borders. We may process and store information about you on servers located outside your country of residence, including the United States. When transfers from the EEA, UK, or other restricted jurisdictions occur, we use Standard Contractual Clauses or other legally recognized transfer mechanisms.
Security
Credittavero takes reasonable measures to safeguard the personal information in our care. Site traffic is encrypted with HTTPS; access to operational systems is restricted to authorized personnel under formal access controls; and we maintain incident-response procedures to act quickly in the event of a security event. While no online system is invulnerable, we treat the security of reader data as a core responsibility.
Changes to This Policy and How to Reach Us
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, new regulatory requirements, or other operational reasons. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, for material changes, take additional steps to notify subscribers. Questions about this policy or about your personal information can be sent through our Contact form, which is the fastest way to reach the editor responsible for privacy at Credittavero.
